monthly. Classes are offered on the 2nd Thursday of the months January,
March, May, July, September and November. Classes are from 6pm to
8pm.

ICU/CCU: A 6-bed intensive care
unit that offers a fully trained staff with 160 years of combined
nursing experience. The unit has a state-of-the-art cardiac and
pressure monitoring system and is fully capable of caring for patients
needing ventilator support. With a Cardiologist and a Neurologist
on staff, Mena Regional Health System is able to provide a level
of ICU/CCU care unmatched in communities of similar size.
Hospitalist A Hospitalist is a physician who specializes
in caring for patients while they are in the hospital. Their time is devoted to caring for hospitalized patients.
Hospitalists manage and coordinate all aspects of your hospital care – from admission until discharge –
working closely with your primary care physician and/or specialists involved.
Your Hospitalist will keep your primary care physician and your family informed about your progress in the hospital.
Dr. David Henderson is our current Hospitalist on staff, he joined us in October of 2010.
Laboratory Services: A full-service
laboratory using state of the art equipment. Accurate and rapid
results for routine and specialized testing. Twenty-four hour, 7-daya-week
emergency coverage. Outpatient testing is open Monday through Friday

Lithotripsy Service: provides
treatment for kidney and bladder stones. Call 479-394-1861.
Neurodiagnostic Services: EEG
testing performed for patients requiring neurological evaluation.
Outpatient testing is scheduled through the physician’s office.
Psychiatric Services:
Behavioral Health:
Mena Behavioral
Health (479-394-7400) provides 24-hour-a-day intensive
treatment for older patients with acute psychiatric disorders and,
often, cognitive impairment. There is an interdisciplinary team
of geriatric-trained specialists including Social Workers, Nurses,
Occupational and Activity Therapists. The Medical Director is
a Psychiatrist who is
the attending physician. The treatment team provides each patient
with a comprehensive interdisciplinary assessment and an individually
tailored plan for treatment. The physicians manage the patient’s
medications and direct intensive group therapies, activities, individual
counseling, educational and skill building actions. The program
emphasizes patient/family participation.
Cedar Haven: an outpatient
behavioral health program established to help individuals and families
find successful solutions to serious emotional concerns, problems,
and stresses. The program, under the direct supervision of Medical
Director Dr. William M. Meaney, M.D., serves children, adolescents,
adults, and geriatrics. Outpatient mental health services include:
intensive outpatient counseling, individual and family counseling,
group therapy, case management, and crisis intervention. Call 479-243-2380.
Radiology Services: The department
is completely digital and staffed 24 hours a day. Outpatient exams
are scheduled from 7:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday. Services provided
are: Diagnostic Fluoro, Surgical and Emergency Radiology; Computed
Tomography; MRI; Mammography;
Diagnostic
Ultrasound; EKG; and Nuclear Medicine. 479-243-2214 or 243-2209
New MRI and CT Scanners:
The Radiology Department at Mena Regional Health System has recently
added a top of the line Toshiba “Titan” MRI
and Toshiba 64-Slice CT Scanner. .ese are both great for detecting
serious disease fast so that doctors have more information to
plan and track appropriate treatment.
They are both adapted to make the process as comfortable as it
can be with less noise and wider bores. This state of the art equipment
is just one more reason to choose MRHS for your healthcare needs.
Respiratory Therapy Services:
24-hour coverage is provided for all forms of critical emergency
care–heart attack, trauma, asthma, etc. The department is
staffed with nationally certified and registered personnel, all
of whom are professionally trained in pulmonary function, arterial
blood gas testing, ventilator care, as well as basic respiratory
care.
Sleep Lab: provides fully functional
and professional services specializing in Sleep Apnea, Periodic
Limb Movements, and related sleep disorders. Call 479-394-6100 ext

Surgical Services: With general,
obstetrics/gynecology, orthopedic, ophthalmology, urology, and podiatry
surgeons on staff, Mena Regional Health System is able to provide
surgical services that allow people of this community to stay in
the community when these services are required. Many of our outpatient
clinics also utilize the surgical services, further reducing the
need to travel for health care.
Women’s Services: offering
gynecology surgery & nursing; 4 “home-like” birthing
rooms, labor & delivery, post partum, 24 hour newborn care,
lactation nursing, and 24 hour nursery care; monthly childbirth
classes; social and dietary services.Two
OB/GYN physicians are on staff.

Physical Rehabilitation Services: Inpatient Physical & Occupational
Therapy: Mena Rehabilitation Center (479-394-6100 ext. 2303)
provides inpatient care for transdisciplinary rehabilitation. Services
are provided under the supervision of a physician trained in the
specialty of physical medicine. Disciplines available are: Rehabilitative
Nursing, Social Work, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech
Therapy, and Psychiatry. Most services are covered by Medicare.
